Meet Dr. Amanda Swanton

Urologist

Dr. Swanton is a clinical assistant professor of urology at the University of Iowa who specializes in men’s health. She is a graduate of the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, where she earned her medical degree and a PhD in translational biomedicine. Dr. Swanton completed residency in general surgery and urology at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and then participated in a year of fellowship training in sexual, reproductive, and transgender medicine and surgery at Boston Medical Center.

“Many men feel alone in the health problems they face. My favorite part about being a men’s sexual health specialist is helping them with these very sensitive issues by helping them understand the changes in their bodies so that, together, we can find the treatment options that work best for them. It’s very gratifying to help them regain not only their function but also their confidence and self-esteem.”  – Dr. Amanda Swanton
