Revitalize your Skin

Smooth, bright facial skin can help create vibrant complexation. Acne scarring, wrinkles, or enlarged pores can create uneven skin textures that is further highlighted as light shines on our faces from different angles. Uneven skin texture combined with this shadow effect make it very difficult to camouflage uneven skin textures, even with make-up. At Revitalize U, our highly experienced team of board-certified surgeons, and dermatologists have state-of-the-art treatments to improve your skin texture. Depending on your skin coloration and the cause of your skin texture concerns, treatments range from topical, at-home, treatments, to minimally invasive treatments such as the radiofrequency assisted micro-needling of the Morpheus 8, to surgical procedures such as laser resurfacing and dermabrasion.

During your initial consultation, our team at Revitalize U will work with you to determine what skin texture treatment is right for you. Contact us today to schedule your initial consultation!

Skin Texture Treatments

Skin texture unevenness can be very mild with only pigment irregularities, [link to discoloration page] or can be more prominent such as pitting acne scarring. Our board-certified dermatologists and surgeons will evaluate your skin to develop a treatment plan right for you. The treatments may be a series of minimally invasive treatments, a single surgical treatment, or a combination of procedures.

Customizing your Skin Texture Treatment

Topical therapy

This may include treatments such as bleaching creams, retin A, or light, at-home chemical peels. Topical treatments may take several weeks before results are visible. Treatments may often be used on regular basis.

Light Therapy

This may include treatments such as intense pulse light (IPL) or broad band light (BBL). Light therapy may cause a mild amount of pinkness that may last for up to an hour following treatment. Light therapy is usually performed in a series of treatments.

Radiofrequency Assisted Micro-needling, Morpheus 8

This is similar to micro-needling where collagen is induced by multiple tiny needles penetrating the skin; however, the Morpheus generates radiofrequency induced heating through the tiny needles to create increased collagen production and tightening of the skin.

Chemical Peels

Chemical Peels remove the top layer of damaged skin using different types of medications. The amount of the top layer of skin removed will depend on the type of medication applied. Chemical peels can vary from very light with a minimal recovery time to aggressive chemical peels where the procedure is performed under IV sedation. Lighter peels are used to treat unevenness of the skin affecting the more superficial layers and more aggressive chemical peels are used to treat more severe unevenness such as deep acne scarring.

Laser Resurfacing

Laser resurfacing uses laser energy to remove the top layer of the skin. The laser energy can be varied to remove less or more of the top layer of skin. During the treatment, the laser can focus on specific areas of uneven skin while leaving the adjacent areas untreated. This strategy allows quicker healing as the skin will heal from the untreated areas over the treated areas. The recovery time for laser resurfacing will depend on the depth of the laser resurfacing performed.

Dermabrasion

This is a treatment often used for raised scars or to blend deep, pitting, acne scarring. The top layer of skin is mechanically removed with a spinning tip can be used to selectively “sand down” raised areas of the skin. This procedure can be performed under local anesthesia or IV sedation, depending on preference and the size of the treatment area.

Recovery & Results

A skin texture treatment recovery can vary from no downtime to seven to ten days of recovery. Recovery is dependent on the type of skin texture problem and the treatment you and your Revitalize U physician choose. Your Revitalize U care team will discuss after care and recovery once you chosen the procedure that is right for you. *
